Lithophane is an etched or moulded artwork in thin, transluscent porcelain. This means it can only be seen clearly when backlit with a light source, in this case a tealight or led light that will shine throught the pattern.

The design is repeated around the whole of the tealight holder, creating a warm and atmospheric light.
